Day 1: Clayton, New York – 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel
Our travels through upstate New York brings us to the picturesque town of Clayton--a jewel of a peninsula surrounded by the magnificent St. Lawrence River. We check into the 1000 Islands Harborview Hotel on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Designated a AAA Four Diamond property, you will experience elevated service and exceptional accommodations. This evening we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel. (Dinner included)
Day 2: 1000 Islands/Boldt Castle & Singer Island Cruise
Following breakfast, we set out for Alexandria Bay to board our international 22-mile round trip 1000 Islands Cruise through American and Canadian waters. You’ll enjoy a visit to the mysterious Singer Castle, built at the turn of the century by the president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company.
Our cruise also includes a visit to the 29-room Rhineland Boldt Castle on Heart Island. This impressive castle home was built in the early 1900’s by George Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world-famous Waldorf Astoria.
Following our day of exploring, we return to land and our hotel for the evening. (Breakfast included)
Day 3: Antique Boat Museum/LaDuchesse Riverboat
After breakfast we head to one of Clayton’s premier tourist sites, the award-winning Antique Boat Museum. This is North America’s premier freshwater boating museum showcasing over 300 beautifully restored boats with rich history and incredible craftsmanship.
We will also enjoy a 30-minute tour of the 106’ houseboat LaDuchesse, bringing to life 100 years of gracious river lifestyle. See her luxurious interior and original furnishings while hearing the story of this unique summer home of George Boldt. After lunch, we resume our travels home with memories of the beauty of our 1000 Islands getaway. (Breakfast included)
