Ocean City

Day 1: Ocean City, Maryland

Our travels south bring us to beautiful Ocean City, Maryland. Upon arrival we check in for a three-night stay at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront, ideally located in the heart of Ocean City on the beach. Enjoy time to settle in, take in the coastal scenery or explore the hotel’s amenities before we gather for a delicious dinner at the popular Blu Crabhouse & Raw Bar Restaurant. (Dinner Included)

Day 2: Assateague Island – Eco Cruise

After breakfast, we head to Assateague Island, “Home of the Wild Ponies”! Over 90 ponies call this island home. For over 300 years these beautiful horses have roamed the island without interference by humans.

Our guide begins our tour at the Visitor’s Center where we learn of the natural beauty and history of this unique island. Our scenic tour continues through the National Seashore with its pristine beaches and coastal wildlife. We continue to charming Berlin, Maryland, one of America's coolest small towns, before boarding the Assateague Explorer for a narrated eco-cruise. Glide through pristine waterways accessible only by boat as we search for famous wild ponies, native birds, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. We return to our oceanfront hotel in the afternoon with time to relax and enjoy the beach and take in breathtaking sunsets. (Breakfast included)

Day 3: Smith Island Adventure

After breakfast our local guide introduces us to the unique heritage and traditions of Maryland's historic Smith Island, home to one of the region's oldest English-speaking communities. We arrive at this Chesapeake Bay treasure by ferry and see how it has preserved time-honored customs and island life. Locals still speak with an accent reminiscent of centuries-old England.

We enjoy a delicious family-style lunch on the island, including a slice of the famous Smith Island Cake, Maryland's iconic multi-layer dessert. Later, we return to Ocean City and spend the evening relaxing at our beautiful oceanfront hotel. (Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 4: Journey Home

Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before departing Ocean City for our return journey to Connecticut. We will take home wonderful memories of scenic coastal landscapes, island adventures, delicious cuisine, and the charm of Maryland's Eastern Shore. (Breakfast included)
